Tv shows partially or entirely focused on dog’s adventures seem so old style, but Striscia la Notizia’s one is the most famous one in Italy indeed. Every year the editorial staff of the show hosts a puppy that eventually get adopted at the end of the season, sometimes by the entourage of this very show. Let’s find out what breed is Striscia la Notizia’s dog 2020 edition.
A little female mongrel as main charachter of Striscia la Notizia
The tradition to host a dog at Striscia la Notizia goes back to the first editions, during the 90’s, then many other puppies have followed one another on the famous blue desk. In the last editions we have seen a Saint Bernard and a Bernese Mountain Dog, but last year the host was selected from a kennel near Taranto, we are talking about a mongrel with dark fur. The puppy was a little shy at the beginning, but then it got used during the season together with the hosts of the show, and the audience really loved it.
Why Striscia la Notizia’s dogs have strange names?
Striscia la Notizia’s dog are not given a name immediately, it is the audience choice among many options. They are not often “classic” names, but they come from news (Imu, Fake, Donald, as the last USA president Trump) or they are simply funny (Castagna, Tofu, Leopolda). This is done in order to increase public interest towards puppies and to ease the adoption process.
What happens to Striscia’s dogs?
Once the dog to be hosted is selected, Striscia’s editorial staff calls for help from a trainer. This is done in order to avoid negative aspects to remain in the dog’s personality (Tv studios are always chaotic, with many people going around), but also to get it used to the new family it will meet by the end of the season. After many months on the spotlight, the dog is adopted by the most suitable family or by a member of Striscia’s team, such is the case of Willy, adopted by the host at the time, Massimo Iacchetti.
